SCC/Oakham Buildings – Latest Coronavirus Updates - Read More

SCC/Oakham Buildings

With the announcement of the lockdown extension of southern Ontario wide shutdown to start on December 26th, 2020, we are once again forced to close the buildings.

We will need to move back to model we had through the Spring and Summer where only authorized staff/executive are accessing the building and only on an absolute need be basis. Our staff will not be working the front desk and will not be maintaining contact tracing for the building. The building custodian will not be in the building on a daily basis and the University will revert to their prior shutdown cleaning schedule (note that is is not as regular as they know that the building will not be regularly occupied).

The current lockdown is scheduled to last 28 days. This brings us into our usual winter closure period. We would normally be opening back up on January 24, 2021.

Ryerson University is operating on an essential services model on our campus until further notice. For more information visit

The Ryerson Student Centre brings together new and old in an innovative, inviting and sustainable way, making it perfect to serve students, faculty, staff and our community as well.

The Ram in the Rye and the Oakham Cafe are two oases that allow students to escape the hustle and bustle of student life, eat a scratch-cooked meal, and save money.  We also provide students, faculty, staff and the community with access to fully equipped meeting and conference rooms, also at affordable prices. And as home to Ryerson's two main students' unions, their affiliated campus groups and course unions, the Student Centre is the perfect place to access services, meet friends, and get involved.
