Oakham House Societies are community based and focused organizations who aim to promote awareness of, and participation in non-academic, cultural and recreation activities with the overall goal of enriching the cultural experience of Ryerson community members. Societies comprise the membership and leadership from, and target their events and activities towards Ryerson students, staff, faculty, alumni, and other member of the Ryerson community.
Oakham Amateur Campus Theatre
Oakham Amateur Campus Theatre provides an opportunity for any student interested in theatre to be involved in major amateur productions. The group mounts at least one festival style production annually; aspiring directors, actors, tech crew, stage crew and playwrights. No experience necessary! McClung's Magazine Society
McClung's magazine is Ryerson's voice for women. Published twice a year, McClung's goes beyond what typical mainstream media has to offer, and offers in-depth examination of the issues that affect women today. Improv Society
The Improv society is where you can show your comedic flair. With weekly meetings and workshops with professional improvisors, the Oakham House Improv Society is the best place for beginners as well as seasoned veterans. Live Poets Society
Live Poets is a monthly poetry reading series that runs from September to March. Featuring both local poets and poets from across Canada, the Series provides a venue for the Ryerson community and general public to Encounter writers working across a wide range of poetic traditions. Readings Usually run from thirty to forty minutes and are followed by a Q & A.

Choir Society
The Oakham House Choir is one of the longest running and few Toronto Choirs in which amateur and experienced singers can perform with a professional orchestra, The Toronto Sinfonietta. Made up of Ryerson undergraduates and alumni, current and retired faculty members ranging in size from 60-80 members, the choir performs two major choral works per season in at least two concerts accompanied by the Toronto Sinfonietta.

Adventure Society
Founded 2002, the Adventure Society has shared their love of the outdoors with the rest of the Ryerson Community. Offering numerous opportunities for involvement, we organize a variety of events throughout the year to encourage outdoor exploration, education and leadership development. Events are always planned to cater both the beginner looking to try something new, and the seasoned outdoor enthusiast aspiring to taking on new heights. Our group ensures that we keep all our trips student priced for student budgets.
